Displaying Earrings | Cleaning Beads | Filling Gaps Between Beads

New uses for a pants hanger, an electric toothbrush and crimp covers.

1 earring display
To make an inexpensive earring holder, attach a piece of needlepoint canvas to the clips on a pants hanger. Hook the earrings through the holes in the canvas, and hang the holder in a closet for convenient storage. You'll be able to see all your earrings at a glance.

2 power cleaning
Thrift-store beads sometimes require a more thorough cleaning than just a swipe of a cloth. An old electric toothbrush and a drop of dish soap in warm water will usually do the job.

3 bridging the gap
If you see a gap between beads in a finished piece, fill the space with a crimp cover. Select a silver- or gold-colored crimp cover to match your design, then simply close the cover over the beading wire - no restringing required.
