Reading PDFs on your iPadDownloading, viewing, and organizing your projects

Published: April 22, 2011 A recent update to apple's mobile operating system — iOS 4.3 — makes downloading, viewing, and organizing PDFs a breeze. Follow these steps to download BeadStyle PDFs directly to your iPad so you can access them on the go or offline.
1. If you haven't already, update your iPad software to iOS 4.3. You can check your operating system by going to settings/General/About/Version. 2. Visit BeadStyleMag.com on your iPad and sign in on the site. 3. Go to the Projects area and find the project(s) you want to download. Note: Some projects are free to all site visitors, some are registered users, some are for purchase only, but most are subscriber exclusives. 4. Click on the PDF link. At this point your iPad will open the project in a new browser window. 5. Tap anywhere on the screen. A black bar will drop down from the upper navigation bar. On the right side you will see the "Open in iBooks" option. 6. Select "Open in iBooks." The project will be installed to your iBooks PDF catalog.
That's all it takes! You can now take your PDFs everywhere and access them offline. I love to be able to zoom in on individual step-by-step photos to get even more detail. iTunes will back up you PDFs the next time you sync your iPad to your computer.

My favorite part is that you can create specific collections and
organize them right on the iBook shelves. To create your personalized
PDF library:
1. Touch "Collections" on the upper left of the iBooks screen.
2. Select "New" to create your specific collection (e.g. BeadStyle, necklaces, gift ideas, etc.)
3. Return to your PDFs collection and select "Edit" on the upper right.
4. Touch all of the PDFs you want to move to the new collection and touch "Move" on the upper left of the screen.
5. Select the collection in which you want to house the PDFs. The PDFs will instantly move to the new collection.
