In Linda Arline Hartung's "Rich ruffles" project on page 32 of our Crystals special publication, we promised a design alternative. Surprise, we're giving you two! Linda created a kit for this first version. It uses the ruffle pattern in the front and then finishes the necklace with gold seed beads. A detachable bail is used to center a gorgeous lampworked bead. Go to the AlaCarte Clasps & WireLace Web site for more information.

We made this shorter version — we skipped the dangles — to accommodate a higher neckline. Be sure to check out the original "Rich ruffles" design and 50 other all new projects in the Crystals issue. It's available on newsstands now.

I love them both but would shorten up the "dangles" to keep a more together (compact) look.

I prefer the necklace with the dangles. They add charm and whimsy.

Ruffles are a beautiful setting for such a stunning focal bead. Lovely!
