Published: March 4, 2011 Supplies: • 2 10 x 14 mm rectangle beads • 6 6 mm rondelles, in three colors • 10 4 mm flat spacers • 5 in. (13 cm) leaf chain, 5 mm links • 5 in. (13 cm) flat-cable chain, 3 mm links • 4 4 mm jump rings • pair of earring wires • 8 2-in. (5 cm) head pins • chainnose and roundnose pliers • diagonal wire cutters

1. Trim the head from a head pin. Make a plain loop (Basics). String a spacer, a rectangle bead, and a spacer. Make a plain loop. On a head pin, string a spacer and a rondelle. Make a plain loop. Make three rondelle units, one in each color.

2. Cut a 2-in (5 cm) piece of flat cable chain, making sure to cut an odd number of links. Open the loop of an earring wire (Basics), and attach the center link of chain. Close the loop.

3. Cut two 1-in. (5 cm) pieces of leaf chain. Open a jump ring and attach the three rondelle units and one end of each chain. Close the jump ring.

4. Open the loops of the rectangle unit and attach each end of the leaf chain. Close the loops. Use a jump ring to attach each loop of the rectangle unit and an end of the flat cable chain. Make a second earring.
