I love Lucite. Though I'm partial to round beads, I also like to layer flowers in ornaments and necklaces.

So I wanted to share some fabulous new Lucite options from The Hole Bead Shoppe.

Maybe it's all the grey in my wardrobe, but I've been excited about black accessories lately. Check out this Jet Sampler: Filled with flowers large and small, there are plenty of design options. I can't decide whether to use silver (to add some pop) or gunmetal (to keep the piece truly monochromatic). The jet samplers are available with flowers or leaves.

You'll also find colorful mixes. The Hole Bead Shoppe's Lucite is manufacturer-processed, which means you'll see consistent color if you reorder. Also, they can produce thousands of different colors.

These Lucite trumpet flowers (shown on the left side of the photo) have an elegant, flared shape and are available in 18 colors. One non-traditional option: Use them to make angel earrings or ornaments (why not get a head start on your 2011 gifts?).

You can also try samplers with a variety of shapes and colors. The packs shown come with 60 pieces for $18 or $21.

These brand-new leaves are actually galvanized Lucite! The little 15 mm beauties are available in gold, copper, antique silver (top row), silver, or antique gold (bottom row). And don't forget the seed beads: coppery penny or gilded marble green would work well in mixed-metal or steampunk designs.

There's also something really fun about working with the colors in samplers — it can be easier or more challenging to design, depending on how you look at it!

I am really excited about the new lucite sampler packs. It's actually cheaper then going to a bead store and buying them piece by piece.
