Pearl necklaces don’t get much easier than this. Start with a strand of shell pearls; they have a uniform shape and a budget-friendly price. Then choose crystals — I like 3 mm bicones because they resemble knots, but 4 mm crystals will add more color and sparkle. Then just string and wear!

1. Cut a piece of beading wire (Basics). String a pearl and a crystal. Repeat until the strand is within 1 in. (2.5 cm) of the finished length, ending with a pearl.
|
2. On each end, attach half of a toggle clasp (Basics).

Tips
- If you use a multicolored strand of pearls, try 3 mm crystals in different colors. I used vintage rose, light amethyst, and light peach bicones.
- When choosing a toggle clasp, opt for one large enough to bear the weight of the 16 mm pearls.
