Tips for Jewelry Sellers

Taming your jewelry supply inventory

Notebook-4
Even if you’re making jewelry strictly for yourself or gifts, it makes good economic sense to know what you have in your bead stash. If you’ve decided to make designing jewelry a money-making proposition, it’s absolutely necessary.

You can’t afford to buy 4 mm bicones you already have plenty of, or stop a project because you didn’t realize you were out of sterling silver jump rings.

And once you’ve got your business rolling, you’ll want to know exactly how many necklaces, bracelets, and other jewelry you have, what you’ve sold, to whom, and for how much.

There’s no getting around the fact that the first step is a whopper. Recording every single bead, spacer, clasp, etc. is going to take some time and it won’t be fun. But once you’re done, adding and subtracting items as you buy or use them is relatively easy.
